Some Things I Learned While Writing, Editing and Publishing My First Book

“Just because you can’t do it better than somebody else isn’t always a reason to not do something.”

My first book, I THOUGHT THIS WAS WORTH SHARING: STORIES AND SOME OTHER STUFF ABOUT LOVE AND SOME OTHER STUFF is out now. You can order it here.

And here are just a few of the rather random things I learned through the process.

Nobody wants to read about you writing your book except for the people who for some reason want to read about you writing your book. Nobody should write about writing except for some of the heavy hitters, and if you care about writing you’ve probably already read their thoughts on the whole thing. You’re never gonna do it better than they have. But just because you can’t do it better than somebody else isn’t always a reason to not do something. So if you do write about writing your book or writing in general just hope that it helps somebody in some way. And if not, whatever. It’s not like space is limited on the internet. Just try not to come off like you’re some sort of expert on the whole thing when you’ve only done it once and have absolutely no idea (still) what you’re doing and whether or not your book will be successful.

I write books (for fun, and you can find them on Amazon), ads (for a living) and some other stuff (that I almost always put on the internet).
